Hearing Aid Repairs
In Office Services:
Minor repairs to external components such as battery doors, volume
wheels, and earmold tubing can often be performed in our office. Routine
maintenance and cleaning of a hearing aid is recommended to reduce internal
component damage usually caused by wax or moisture. In-office services
are not covered by a hearing aid manufacturers service warranty;
however, Audioscope includes them with hearing aid purchase for a period
of one year. Some common services and prices are given below (prices subject
to change without prior notice).

Manufacturer or All-Make Repairs:
Internal electronic component failure generally requires that the
hearing aid be sent to a repair lab for service. The hearing aid should
be taken to a hearing aid dispenser who will assess the problem and determine
if it needs to be sent in or if it can be fixed in-office. When the aid
is sent to a repair lab the dispenser will fill out service forms and
package the hearing aid for transport. The repaired aid will be returned
to the dispenser who will then check and test the hearing aid to be sure
it has been satisfactorily repaired. Programmable models will be re-programmed
by the dispenser to the hearing aids most recent settings. You may
be asked to schedule an appointment to pick up the hearing aid if the
dispenser wishes to set or check the hearing aid while in your ear. Most
often, however, you can just stop by during office hours once notified
the hearing aid is ready. Repair costs vary depending on the service needed,
the age of the hearing aid, the length of service warranty requested,
the style (size) of the hearing aid and the circuit type. Audioscopes
charges for manufacturer hearing aid repair include our shipping, handling
and testing for the original repair and any others required during the
repair warranty.
