The nature of a hearing loss refers to the location and/or cause of the disturbance within the hearing system. It could be as simple as wax in the outer ear canal blocking sound from reaching the eardrum or fluid behind the eardrum hampering its ability to transfer the vibration to the hearing organ or cochlea. As Audiologists, the Audioscope staff is qualified to provide information and physician referral when a medical condition is involved.
